Officers from the Search and Identification Unit of the Kielce Voivodeship Police Headquarters, with support from counter-terrorist and criminal units from Lublin and Zamość, arrested a 38-year-old man wanted on the basis of a European arrest warrant. The operation took place early yesterday morning (relative to the publication date of 30.10.2026) in one of the houses in the Szczebrzeszyn commune. The detainee, originally from Skarżysko County, had been evading Irish justice.
The man is suspected of participating in an organized criminal group involved in arms trafficking, drug dealing, and money laundering. During police operations, officers found several portions of plant residue in the dwelling, which was initially identified as marijuana. The detainee was placed in a police cell, where he is awaiting a court decision regarding his transfer to law enforcement authorities in Ireland, where he will answer for the crimes charged against him. According to the gathered information, he faces a prison sentence of nearly 30 years.
