The Warsaw Urban Transport Company (ZTM) has prepared an expanded transport plan for the upcoming Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed and All Saints' Day. On October 31st and November 1st, 2026, a total of 28 special public transport lines, including 25 bus lines and 3 tram lines, will be introduced to the capital's streets. Among these will be two entirely new routes: C44, connecting the North Cemetery (Cmentarz Północny) with the Górczewska Estate (Osiedle Górczewska), and C86, which will link Szczęśliwice with Bródno-Podgrodzie.

Operational plans specify that 466 buses will be dedicated exclusively to cemetery lines on November 1st. The day before, on October 31st, the fleet for these services will consist of 363 vehicles. Additionally, during the holiday period, 535 regular line buses and 56 trams will be added to the regular service. Traffic supervisors and information assistants will also be present on the streets to help passengers reach their destinations.

New Lines and Service Frequencies

The new C44 line will provide a direct connection from western Jelonek to the North Cemetery (Cmentarz Północny), strengthening access from the Bemowo district. The C86 line will pass through Ochoa, linking it with the Bródno Cemetery (gate from Chodecka Street) and the Military Powązki Cemetery. Together with line 186, buses operating in this area are scheduled to run at intervals of approximately 7.5 minutes.

The C09 line will record the highest service frequency, with departures every minute on November 1st and every 1.5 minutes on October 31st. On the route connecting the Bródno Cemetery with the North Cemetery (line C13), 40 buses will be deployed on November 1st, ensuring intervals of approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The day before, there will be 31 buses, with a travel time of approximately 3.5 minutes.

Cemetery lines will operate between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Saturday, and from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 1st. Selected routes, such as C09, C51, C11, and C22, will run for longer, extending until 10:00 PM. On Monday, November 2nd (Dzień Zaduszny/Day of the Faithful Departed), cemetery lines will not operate; however, the routes of several regular lines will be altered to facilitate access to the cemeteries.

Road Traffic and Stop Organization Changes

Significant restrictions for individual traffic will be introduced in the areas surrounding the major cemeteries. Okopowa and Powązkowska streets in the vicinity of the Powązki and Military Cemeteries will be closed to vehicle traffic, and an additional parking area will be created along Okopowa Street. Streets around the Bródno Cemetery (including Św. Wincentego and Odrowąża streets) as well as Wólczyńska, Arkuszowa, and Nocznickiego streets in the North Cemetery area will be reserved for public transport vehicles and taxis.

On October 31st and November 1st, bus stops "on request" located directly at the cemeteries will function as fixed stops to facilitate boarding and alighting for passengers. At selected stops, buses will stop automatically without requiring a signal from passengers.

The Metro will operate with increased frequency. On October 31st, line M1 will run at approximately 4-minute intervals, and M2 at 5-minute intervals. On November 1st, waiting times will be reduced to approximately 3 minutes on line M1 and 3 minutes and 30 seconds on line M2.

It is worth remembering that travel on buses reaching the South Cemetery (Antoninów) and Palmiry will be possible with tickets valid in Fare Zone 1, which is a convenience for passengers from the periphery. Detailed information about routes and parking can be found on the Infoulice Warsaw website and in the Warsaw Public Transport (WTP) services.
