On October 31 and November 1, 2026, 28 special transport lines will be launched in Warsaw, including 25 bus and 3 tram lines. This year, two new routes will debut in the network: C44 and C86. Traffic changes include priority for public transport in the vicinity of cemeteries, the designation of temporary parking areas, extended operating hours, and increased vehicle frequency. On All Souls' Day, November 2, cemetery lines will not operate, but several regular routes will be rerouted to facilitate access to the cemeteries.

New Connections and Service Offer

The Warsaw City Transport Authority (ZTM) decided to introduce two new special lines into the offer. Line C44 will connect the Northern Cemetery (Main Gate) with the Górczewska residential estate, ensuring direct communication between western Jelonek and the necropolis, while also strengthening access from Bemowo. The second new route, C86, will launch between Szczęśliwice and Bródno-Podgrodzie. Its profile will allow travel from Ochota to the Military Powązki Cemetery and the Bródno Cemetery (gate from Chodecka Street). Together with the existing line 186, buses on the Ochota – Powązki section will run at intervals of approximately 7.5 minutes.

On Saturday, October 31, cemetery line vehicles will appear on the streets between 9:00 and 17:00. Selected routes, such as C09, C51, C11, and C22, will operate until late evening (respectively until approx. 20:00, 21:00, and 22:00). On Sunday, November 1, the basic operating hours will be 7:00–19:00, with extensions for selected lines until 20:00 or even 22:00. Vehicles will not run according to rigid, minute-by-minute schedules but will be deployed dynamically based on passenger demand.

On the route of line C13, connecting the Bródno and Northern Cemeteries, particularly intensive service is planned. On November 1, 40 buses will be assigned to its operation, with a headway time of approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds. For comparison, on October 31, the same line will be served by 31 vehicles at intervals of every 3.5 minutes. City-wide, 466 buses will be deployed exclusively for cemetery lines on November 1 (363 buses on October 31). Additionally, over 500 vehicles from regular lines and trams will take to the streets.

Road Traffic Changes and Parking

Special traffic organization will be introduced in the vicinity of the largest cemeteries, giving priority to buses, trams, taxis, and vehicles with identifiers issued by the Department of City Road Management (ZDM, for people with disabilities, city services, etc.). Private car drivers will be required to use designated parking areas, and police officers will manage traffic at key points.

In the area of the Powązki Cemetery and the Military Cemetery, Okopowa and Powązkowska streets will be closed to individual traffic. A special parking area will be established on Okopowa street, while other parking spots are designated on Maczka, “old” Powązkowska, Elbląska, Tatarska, and Ostroroga streets. Around the Bródno Cemetery, streets such as św. Wincentego, Odrowąża, and a section of Matki Teresy z Kalkuty street will be reserved for buses. Temporary parking areas will also be created on Wysockiego and Matki Teresy z Kalkuty streets.

Car access to the Northern Cemetery will be possible from Pułkowa street (via Wóycickiego street) or from the Estrady street side. Wólczyńska, Arkuszowa, and Nocznickiego streets will be designated exclusively for public transport and vehicles accessing specific properties. Cars can be parked at the parking areas near the cemetery gates.

Schedules and Regular Routes

On All Saints' Day, the routes and operating frequencies of many regular lines will change. Buses of lines 103, 106, 114, 120, 122, 131, 136, 139, 156, 167, 169, 173, 180, 181, 184, 189, 191, 203, 211, 250, 251, 409, 500, 713, 727, 731, 739, as well as night and school lines (L-4, L-5, L28, L38, L39, N14, N41, N62, N64, N91), will run on modified routes, often stopping closer to cemetery gates. Services on lines 126, 160, and 212 will be suspended.

Increased service frequency will be provided to lines 110, 161, 173, 180, 181, 183, 189, 191, 211, 250, 409, 527, 709, and 731, among others. Trams will run according to the Saturday schedule but with reinforcements on lines 3 (every 5–7.5 minutes) and 26 (every 7.5 minutes). Line 25 will run every 15 minutes, and trams on line 19 will reach the Metro Młociny loop, facilitating access to the Wawrzyszew Cemetery area. Instead of shortened services on line 16, trams of line C4 will operate.

The Metro will also increase its train frequency. On October 31, trains on the M1 line will depart every approx. 4 minutes, and on the M2 line every 5 minutes. On November 1, the interval will shorten to 3 minutes on M1 and 3 minutes and 30 seconds on M2.

"On request" stops located in the immediate vicinity of cemeteries will function as fixed stops on October 31 and November 1. Additional stops will be launched, for example, for line 517 at the cemeteries in Włochy. Passengers traveling to the Southern Cemetery (lines 727, 737, C37, C47) and to Palmiry (C81) will use first-zone tickets for the entire route.

Access on November 2 (All Souls' Day)

On Monday, November 2, cemetery lines will not operate, but the routes of several regular buses will be modified. Lines 250, 409, 739, L38, L39, and L53 will run on modified routes, and lines 212, 250, 409, 739, L38, L39, and L53 will have special schedules. High-capacity vehicles will be assigned to lines 169, 181, and 303.

Buses on line 250 will reach the loop at the main gate of the Northern Cemetery, and between 9:00 and 17:00, they will also serve the western gate (Dziekanowska street). Line 409 will connect the Bródno Cemetery with the Northern Cemetery, bypassing the Młociny station and the northern gate of the necropolis. In Piaseczno, buses 739, L39, and L53 will change their routes in the area of the cemetery on Julianowska street, and L53 will stop "on request" at selected stops.
