Formal preparations for the expansion of Lewandów Street completed in the Białołęka district

The formal preparations for the expansion of Lewandów Street in the capital's Białołęka district have been completed. On October 30, 2026, a contract was signed with the contractor, who is tasked with preparing the necessary design documentation. According to the contract terms, the design works are to be completed within 24 months from the moment the parties begin their joint activities.

The contractor for the task is the company PROMOST CONSULTING. The scope of its duties includes preparing the construction project and executive designs. Additionally, the company is required to obtain the administrative decisions needed to start the actual construction works. The investment concerns a road section approximately one kilometer long, leading from Głębocka Street to the boundary of the capital city of Warsaw.

The main goal of the modernization is to improve the safety and comfort of road users. As part of the planned works, a new roadway equipped with one lane of traffic in each direction will be created. A route designated for cyclists will also be marked in parallel. This change is intended to improve traffic flow, enhance the functioning of bus transport, and facilitate access to properties adjacent to the street.

Special emphasis in the project is placed on increasing the safety level. The construction of a new street lighting system is planned, with attention paid to the proper illumination of pedestrian crossings. In areas where there is a higher risk of dangerous situations, traffic-calming solutions and measures to improve visibility for drivers and pedestrians will be applied.

The technical infrastructure will also undergo changes. The scope of works includes the construction of a complete road drainage system. The underground infrastructure that conflicts with the planned street expansion will also be rebuilt. Financial means for the implementation of these design works have been included in the current Multi-Year Financial Projection for the years 2026–2028.
