The Śródmieście Police Unit concluded the search for the perpetrator of the crime that took place in central Warsaw. Officers from the department dealing with crimes against life and health established the identity of a 29-year-old British citizen. The man is suspected of a brutal robbery, resulting in a 28-year-old Polish citizen suffering serious head injuries and the disappearance of a mobile phone valued at approximately 5,000 zloty.

The incident took place on Pankiewicza Street. According to the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters, the victim was severely beaten and then deprived of property. Immediately after committing the crime, the suspect left the country, crossing the border with Ukraine. Departing abroad did not end the investigation. Investigators from the Warsaw I District Police Headquarters continued their activities, which allowed them to monitor the perpetrator's movements.

The key moment in the case was the 29-year-old's attempt to return to Poland. The man was detained by Border Guard officers while crossing the Polish-Ukrainian border. The detention took place on November 4, 2026. After being arrested at the border, the suspect was handed over to police officers from the Hrubieszów County Police Headquarters, from where he was transported to Warsaw. Further procedural actions were taken against him at the Warsaw I District Police Headquarters.

The man was charged with robbery and causing injury to health. The Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor's Office, which is overseeing the proceedings, applied for a preventive measure. The court accepted this application, deciding on the isolation of the suspect. He faces a prison sentence of up to 15 years for the committed acts.
