At the end of October this year, residents of Targówek reported to the police the theft of an electric scooter, which was stolen from a bike rack on a parking lot. The victim valued the loss at 2,500 zloty. The case was transferred to the Criminal Division of the Targówek police headquarters, where intensive investigative activities were initiated to identify the perpetrators.

Thanks to the analysis of information, the criminal investigators identified two individuals responsible for the crime. It turned out to be a 19-year-old woman and her 21-year-old partner. Previously, both had other thefts on record, which further confirmed the investigators' suspicions. The arrests were made in one of the apartments in the Białołęka district. During the operations, the police recovered the stolen scooter, which the couple had been hiding in an apartment on Targówek.

On Friday, the suspects were brought in for interrogation, where they were charged with theft. According to the penal code, they face a penalty of imprisonment of up to 5 years. The Warsaw-Praga North District Prosecutor's Office is supervising the proceedings. The police note that despite worsening weather conditions, electric scooters remain a popular means of transport, so they remind owners of the necessity of properly securing them against theft.
