The District Road Management Office (Zarząd Dróg Miejskich) informs about a planned renovation of a section of Czerniakowska Street, which will begin on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 22:00. The works will involve milling the pavement, covering the section from Trasa Siekierkowska to the intersection with Idzikowskiego and Gołkowska Streets. Consequently, both carriageways will be closed to vehicular traffic. Drivers and public transport will be redirected to designated detour routes. According to the ZDM, due to the extensive scope of the works, the duration of the renovation will be longer than for standard repairs.

Detours and Traffic Organization

The main detour route will run via Trasa Siekierkowska, then Witos Avenue, Jana III Sobieskiego Street, and św. Bonifacego Street. For vehicles coming from Powsińska and Gołkowska Streets, the route will be via Idzikowskiego Street to Witos Avenue. Drivers entering from Mokotów will be able to continue via Gagarina, Belwederska, and Jana III Sobieskiego Streets, and then turn onto Idzikowskiego. Meanwhile, traffic from Wilanów will be directed via Przyczółkowa, Wilanowska Avenue, and Jana III Sobieskiego Street to Witos Avenue.

During the renovation period, Pyjasy Street and Bernardyński Square will lose direct connection to Czerniakowska Street. On Powsińska Street, before the intersection with Idzikowskiego and Gołkowska, two middle traffic lanes will be closed, allowing only left or right turns. From the Mokotów side, before Trasa Siekierkowska, two left-turn lanes and two right-turn lanes will be designated on Czerniakowska Street’s carriageway. An additional lane enabling a turn onto Jana III Sobieskiego Street will appear in Witos Avenue.

Public Transport and Pedestrians

Changes in traffic organization will also affect bus routes. Lines 131, 162, 180, and night line N83 will operate via Witos Avenue, Jana III Sobieskiego, and Idzikowskiego Streets. Lines 185 and night line N33 will be routed via Idzikowskiego and Witos Avenue. Meanwhile, the route of line 187 will be temporarily shortened to the Chełmska stop.

Restrictions are planned for pedestrians: the crossing of Wisłostrada in the vicinity of the intersection with Idzikowskiego and Gołkowska will be accessible only on the Powsińska side. On the other hand, the pedestrian crosswalks (zebra crossings) on Czerniakowska Street near Trasa Siekierkowska will remain open and usable. Traffic on the new pavement is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 4:00.
