Śródmieście police thwarted the escape of the perpetrator of a brutal robbery that took place in the center of Warsaw. The 29-year-old British citizen, suspected of the attack and causing serious injury to a 28-year-old Polish man, was detained by Border Guard officers as he attempted to re-enter Poland from Ukrainian territory. The incident occurred on Pankiewicz Street, where the victim was severely beaten and his mobile phone, worth approximately 5,000 PLN, was stolen.

The arrest was made possible by investigators from the Warsaw I District Police Headquarters, working within the Department for the Fight Against Crime Against Life and Health. After establishing the identity of the attacker, who had left the country following the active crime, police shared the information with border services. The man was located and stopped during a check at the Polish-Ukrainian border. He was then handed over to officers from the Hrubieszów County Police Headquarters and ultimately transported to Warsaw to KRP I on Wilcza Street.

During further procedural actions, the suspect was charged with robbery and causing health damage. The District Prosecutor's Office for Warsaw-Śródmieście, which oversees the proceedings, requested the isolation of the suspect. The court accepted the investigators' application, imposing a three-month pre-trial detention on the 29-year-old. He faces a penalty of deprivation of liberty ranging from 2 to 15 years.
