Officers from the Pseudo-Fan Crime Unit of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław concluded a series of operational activities in Lower Silesia, during which individuals linked to fan groups from Wrocław, Lubin, and Świdnica were detained. During searches and police interventions, significant quantities of narcotics, cash derived from their trafficking, white weapons, and pyrotechnic materials were seized. These operations resulted in the temporary detention of one suspect and the referral of further cases to the courts.
Detention and Highway Escape
The first stage of the action was the detention of a 26-year-old resident of Wrocław, associated with the pseudo-fan environment of a local football club. Police, having established that the man could be trafficking narcotics, searched his car and place of residence. During the procedure, cocaine and 17,000 PLN in cash were found, which, according to investigators, most likely originated from illegal drug trade. The man was detained, and a court will decide on his further fate.
The next target of the services was a 34-year-old resident of Lubin, closely linked to pseudo-fan groups from that city. While driving on the A4 highway, the man did not stop for a road checkpoint and attempted to escape. After a several-kilometer chase, his vehicle stopped in a nearby ditch, enabling officers to make the detention. Nearly 2,500 portions of marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy tablets were secured in the car. Additionally, police seized a machete, several mobile phones, and electronic scales, which suggested the conduct of regular drug trade. After interrogation and the presentation of charges, the court ordered a preventive measure in the form of temporary detention for a period of three months for the 34-year-old.
Prevention Before the Match in Świdnica
Another important element of the current operational activities was an intervention just before the Sunday football match in Świdnica. Officers seized an arsenal of pyrotechnic materials, including rockets, flares, and firecrackers. Scarves and shirts with the colors of various clubs were also secured, which—according to police findings—had been previously stolen. The men detained in this case were linked to the pseudo-fan environments of the Wrocław, Lubin, and Świdnica teams. According to police information, the intercepted club colors were intended to be burned during the match, which is a characteristic act in confrontations between hostile fan factions. This case, like the remaining proceedings, is currently before the court.
The police remind that possession and trade of significant quantities of drugs carry a penalty of imprisonment of up to 10 years. The services emphasize that the conducted operations are of key importance for the safety of the region's residents and effectively limit access to illegal substances, which pose a serious threat to health and life. The officers declare a continued, consistent fight against stadium banditry, hooliganism, and all criminal actions by pseudo-fan groups.
