Over 250 students from various countries participated in the inauguration of the Warsaw City Info Day, a new city event aimed at people beginning their studies in the capital. The initiative covered 15 higher education institutions in Warsaw and aims to facilitate the integration of the foreign academic community with the local environment. According to available data, nearly 29,000 foreigners were studying in Warsaw in 2025, accounting for approximately 12 percent of all students.

Integration with the City's Offer

Warsaw City Info Day was created in response to needs reported by universities and as an extension of a pilot project implemented in 2025. The event was intended to complement the adaptation programs run by higher education institutions, presenting the capital from the perspective of a place to live, not just a place to study. The city organized the event in cooperation with the promotion offices of Warsaw universities.

During the meeting, participants familiarized themselves with practical information regarding living in Warsaw. Presentations on the stage covered topics such as safety, an active lifestyle, and career development opportunities. Participants also learned how to utilize the city's offer in terms of transportation, culture, sports, and education.

Stands of City Institutions

Stands run by city units and organizations partnering with the local government enjoyed great interest. Representatives of the institutions answered students' questions and offered support with everyday matters. Among the organizers of the information stands were, among others: the City of Warsaw Labour Office (Urząd Pracy m.st. Warszawy), the Multicultural Center in Warsaw, the Intercultural Center for Social Development, and the Smolna Entrepreneurship Center.

Joanna Popielawska, the Director-Coordinator for Strategy and External Relations, emphasized that the goal of the activities is to show that Warsaw is a city for foreign students as well. The aim is for young people to feel like part of the local community and to actively take advantage of the opportunities available in the capital.

The Future of the Initiative

The success of the first edition confirmed the interest in this type of event among students. The city plans to continue the initiative by organizing further meetings to support the integration of foreigners. The next Warsaw City Info Day will take place on October 24. The event fits into the broader strategy of promoting Warsaw as an attractive place for studying, both for domestic and foreign students.
