Residents of Mokotow and dance art enthusiasts have the opportunity to participate in a free cultural event taking place on the evening of Saturday, November 14, 2026. At 20:00, Test Dance Theatre will perform a piece titled “Touch” (Muśnięcia) at Dorożkarnia, located at 28 Siekierkowska Street. The performance, produced by Dorożkarnia, lasts for one hour and is dedicated to audiences aged 16 and older.
The Emotional Dimension of Touch in Dance
The spectacle focuses on the theme of touch and its fundamental role in human emotional communication. In the event description, the organizers quote Virginia Satir, an American psychotherapist, who stated that we need four hugs a day to survive, eight to stay healthy, and twelve to grow. The author emphasizes that touch is the earliest developing sense, providing a wide range of sensations – from pleasure to pain – and serving as an indicator of our emotional states.
The creators of the performance emphasize that through touch or a caress, we learn the boundaries of another person’s comfort and signal our attitude towards them. A hand touch often becomes the first physical contact between people, leaving a lasting impression. According to the organizers, people need touch to communicate feelings, help each other, and draw support. The spectacle “Touch” aims to recover, understand, and perfect this bodily language.
Artistic Program
The Test Dance Theatre show depicts touch in many shades: as sensual, caring, emotional, breaking, and sometimes painful and frustrating, yet always positive. The performance is a reflection on the relationship between physicality and shame, love and power, and tenderness and strength. It is a dance story about boundless touches, with elements of eroticism intended to stimulate the imagination and provide sensory experiences. During the show, sensual music inspires movement, and dance contrasts enhance the intensity of the audience’s sensations.
Practical Information for Audiences
Tickets for the event are free but require collection before the visit. Due to the nature of the subject matter, the performance is intended exclusively for adults and young people over the age of 16. Dorożkarnia provides appropriate facilities for people with disabilities, including an accessible toilet, a dedicated parking space, and architectural access to the facility.
The event is a cultural offer for residents of Warsaw’s Mokotow district who are interested in an innovative approach to the themes of intimacy and non-verbal communication in dance art.
