On Sunday, November 1, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a gas explosion occurred in a residential building in the village of Marianów (Popów commune, Kłobuck County, Silesian Voivodeship). As a result of the incident, the building was partially destroyed, and the victim became trapped in the rubble.

The first to arrive at the scene were officers from the Kłobuck traffic police, who were on duty near the cemetery in Włoszowice Górne at the time. They were closest to the threatened location, which allowed them to reach the specified address within about three minutes of receiving the report. The police immediately began rescue operations, locating an injured 44-year-old man among the debris. The officers provided him with first aid, and after the firefighters arrived on the scene, they jointly extracted the victim from inside the building.

The man was transported to the hospital by a medical rescue team. It was determined that no other persons were present in the building at the time of the explosion, limiting the number of casualties to one. Currently, detectives from Kłobuck are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident. The investigation is conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Częstochowa. In order to establish the exact circumstances of the explosion, an inspection involving an expert in fire engineering has been planned. The collected evidentiary materials and the expert's opinion will help reconstruct the course of events.
