The Central Statistical Office (GUS) published the ninth issue of the monthly Statistical Bulletin on October 23, 2026. The document presents current data characterizing Poland's socio-economic situation, collected in monthly, quarterly, and annual series. The new edition incorporates two significant methodological changes affecting the presentation of price data and corporate financial results.

The Statistical Bulletin is published cyclically every month. The latest issue comprises 62 statistical tables covering a wide range of topics. The data include, among other things, national accounts, demography, the labor market, remuneration, social benefits, and public finances. The publication also covers sectors of the economy such as agriculture, industry, construction, transport, domestic and foreign trade, as well as non-financial corporate finances and investment expenditures. The document also contains data on the situation in individual voivodeships (provinces) and indicators of economic and consumer sentiment.

Methodological changes in CPI calculation

Starting from data for January 2026, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is calculated in accordance with the international COICOP 2018 classification. Consequently, part of the groups in the header of Table 40, which presents consumer price indices, has been modified. According to the bulletin, from March 2026 onwards, Table 40 contains final data for the respective groups. Data from previous years, compiled based on the COICOP 1999 classification, are available in the bulletin archives.

New classification rules in the income statement

In 2026, changes resulting from the amendment to the Accounting Act came into force, affecting the way corporate financial results are presented. Under the new regulations, the sale of materials has been moved from the item "net revenue from the sale of goods and materials" (current operating activity) to "other operating income" (other operating activities). Similarly, costs have been transferred to "other operating costs."

According to GUS, the impact of this classification change on statistical data is negligible, meaning that data from previous years are comparable with current data. As a result, in Tables 26 and 27, which concern corporate financial results, the names in the headers and subtitles in the section relating to revenue, costs, and financial results from sales have been changed.
