Officers from the Poznań Provincial Police Command, operating within the Cybercrime Division, detained a 21-year-old resident of the Łódź Voivodeship. The man is suspected of committing a series of frauds on online platforms. During the investigation, it was established that the perpetrator defrauded victims of a combined total of over 53,000 PLN.

The suspect's modus operandi was repetitive. Through popular trading services, he listed various electronic devices for sale, which he did not actually possess. Attractive prices were intended to attract potential buyers. After establishing contact and receiving a bank transfer, the man severed all communication with the buyers.

Work on this investigation lasted several months. Telematics findings were crucial, allowing police to identify the instrumentality of the crime. It was demonstrated that the 21-year-old used 79 different SIM cards to carry out his plans. This enabled officers to determine his identity and place of residence. The detention took place on October 19th within the Łódź Voivodeship. At the time of his arrest, the man denied his guilt. Officers seized the mobile phone he was holding, while a second device was found in a greenhouse on the suspect's property.

The collected evidence indicates that the detainee has at least 22 episodes of fraud to his name. He was charged with fraud, for which he faces a penalty of up to 8 years of imprisonment. The court applied preventive measures in the form of police supervision and a financial bail. As investigators inform, the case is still developing, meaning the list of victims may grow.
