The Statistical Office in Warsaw published the latest data on the socio-economic situation in the Masovian Voivodeship for September 2026. The publication, which is a regular component of the region's economic monitoring, presents key indicators such as the labor market, the dynamics of industrial production, and results in the construction and trade sectors. The most important trends during the analyzed period are the continued growth of wages and a decline in the number of new residential units handed over for use.

Labor Market and Wages

In September 2026, the average monthly gross wage in the corporate sector reached 10,576.75 PLN. According to the office, this represents a 6.0% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Average employment in this sector was 1,566.6 thousand jobs.

The situation in the labor market remained stable. The registered unemployment rate at the end of September 2026 was 4.5%. According to sources, the data show slight differences in interpreting the annual dynamics, however, statistical tables indicate an increase in this indicator by 0.1 percentage points on a year-on-year basis (from 4.4% in 2025 to 4.5% in 2026).

Clear territorial differentiation was observed in the distribution of the unemployment rate. The lowest percentage of unemployed persons was recorded in Warsaw, where it was only 1.7%. The decidedly worst result, amounting to 22.2%, was recorded in szydłowiecki county, highlighting the dualistic economic structure of the voivodeship.

Industry and Trade

The industrial sector showed clear expansion. Industrial sold production in September 2026 reached a value of 50,725.3 million PLN. In real terms, at constant prices, this indicator increased by 5.7% on a year-on-year basis, which testifies to the driving force of this branch of the economy.

Dynamic growth was also recorded in the trade sector. Retail sales increased by 13.0% compared to September 2025. Even greater dynamics were shown by wholesale trade, which grew by 25.7% on a year-on-year basis. Such results may indicate increased demand for materials and goods to meet the needs of both end consumers and other businesses.

Residential Construction

In contrast to industry and trade, the construction sector recorded a clear downward correction. The number of housing units handed over for use in September 2026 was 2,928 units. According to the office, this means an 18.1% decrease on a year-on-year basis. Such a trend may result from a number of factors, such as material costs, the availability of construction staff, or changes in credit policy, although the signatory document focuses on presenting quantitative data.

Economic Outlook

Sentiment among entrepreneurs remains under observation. Climate indicators for the business outlook for October 2026 signal stabilization or slight deterioration of the situation. A particularly clear decline was recorded in transport, where the indicator fell by 3.4 points, and in information and communication, where the drop was 3.1 points. Although the data for September point to growth in production and wages, signals from the service and transport sectors suggest that the pace of economic development may slow down in the coming months.
