The October economic climate survey in the Mazovian Voivodeship, conducted by the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra, indicates that business sentiment is being maintained at a stable level or has shown a slight improvement on a monthly basis. Opinions from entrepreneurs based in the Mazovian Voivodeship are mostly positive. Despite the general trend of stabilization, the data show clear discrepancies between individual economic sectors.
Sectors with Declining Climate
The largest deterioration in the general climate was recorded in transport and warehousing. The indicator in this sector dropped by 3.4 points to reach a level of 6.6 points. A slightly smaller, but still significant, drop of 3.1 points was noted in the information and communications sector, where the indicator fell to 8.1 points. A decrease in sentiment was also observed in industrial processing: the indicator fell from 6.5 points in September to 5.6 points in October 2026.
Growth in Trade and Construction
An opposite trend was shown by wholesale trade, where the general climate indicator rose by 1.7 points to 0.8 points. This is one of the few clear increases in the period under review. Retail trade also recorded an improvement: the indicator increased from 2.2 points to 3.1 points. Construction, which had a negative result in September (-1.0 points), shifted to positive territory, reaching 0.1 points.
Gastronomy the Sentiment Leader
Entrepreneurs operating in the accommodation and gastronomy sector assess the climate most favorably. The indicator in this industry reached a level of 18.7 points, placing it at the top of all surveyed areas. It is worth noting that this result is 1.7 points higher than the long-term average for this sector, indicating particularly favorable business conditions in this area during the current period.
Impact of the War and Price Prospects
The October survey included a module of questions regarding the labor market and the impact of the war in Ukraine on business operations. According to the data, the most frequently cited negative effect of the conflict is the increase in operating costs. In construction, 80.5 percent of firms pointed to this problem. The next most common answer was a decline in sales or revenues. Looking ahead to the next 12 months, entrepreneurs forecast a stabilization of prices for services and materials or a slower rate of increase.
