The Mazovia Voivodeship Local Government has launched a call for applications under the "Mazovia for Memorial Sites 2027" program. The initiative aims to finance activities related to the protection and creation of new objects that serve as testimony to events key to the formation of national identity. The call will last until November 27, 2026, and a total of PLN 600,000 has been reserved for the implementation of tasks. The program is available to municipalities and counties within the Mazovia Voivodeship, as well as to Warsaw and its districts.

Scope of Funding and Participation Conditions

The program covers a wide range of objects of historical significance. Qualified investments include, among others, the construction of monuments, the renovation of existing memorials, the repair of graves and shrines, as well as the creation of commemorative plaques or mounds. Funding may also apply to roadside crosses, sculptures, and other elements associated with figures and events important to Poland and the region.

A single project can receive a maximum of PLN 100,000. These funds will cover up to 80% of the investment costs. A mandatory condition is the completion of all tasks indicated in the application by no later than November 27, 2027.

Continuation of Previous Editions

According to information provided by Marshal Adam Struzik, the program enjoys significant interest and yields measurable results. In the previous edition, 20 tasks with a total value of one million zloty received support. These investments included, among others, the renovation of the partisan monument in the Jednorożec municipality and the construction of the "In Service of Zakroczym Education" monument in the Zakroczym municipality.

As the Marshal emphasizes, every commemorative plaque or grave holds the history of people to whom we owe our freedom and heritage. The program serves to save these places from oblivion and to pass on the memory of them to successive generations of Mazovia's residents.
