The Mazovia Voivodeship government has provided financial support to firefighters in the Ostrołęka region. The total amount allocated for this purpose exceeds 360,000 PLN. The funds come from the “Mazowsze dla straży pożarnych” (Mazovia for Fire Brigades) program and will go to 12 cities and municipalities where 43 units of Volunteer Fire Brigades (OSP) operate.

Mazovia Deputy Marshal Janina Ewa Orzełowska explained that the program responds to the specific needs of municipalities whose budgets often cannot independently cover the costs of buying new fire trucks or equipment. She pointed out that there are over 75,000 active male and female firefighters in Mazovia who require access to modern and safe equipment. She also emphasized that the decision to increase the program budget, made at the last session of the Mazovia Voivodeship Sejmik, allowed for the support of all municipalities that submitted applications, including those previously on the reserve lists.

As a result of these measures, the total value of support under the program has grown to over 24 million PLN. The program provides for two main types of financed tasks. The first is the purchase of rescue-firefighting vehicles, fire equipment, and protective clothing. The second type involves renovation and modernization works of fire stations.

The largest amounts in the Ostrołęka region were allocated to the city of Ostrołęka, which received over 57,600 PLN, and the Zabrodzie municipality with a grant of 50,000 PLN. Further funds will go to the Wąsewo municipality (46,200 PLN) and Czarnie (42,500 PLN). The Kadzidło municipality will receive over 39,800 PLN, while Sypniewo – 27,900 PLN. The remaining municipalities in the region, such as Rzekuń, Łyse, Zaręby Kościelne, Małkinia Górna, Andrzejewo, or Długosiodło, also received allocations from the program, which in total amounts to the mentioned figure of over 360,000 PLN for the entire area covered by the funds transfer.
