The Masovian Voivodeship transferred nearly PLN 1.3 million to support Volunteer Fire Service (OSP) units in Warsaw and the surrounding counties. Funds from the “Mazovia for Fire Brigades” program will go to 61 units. The money will be used to purchase essential equipment, as well as to carry out the renovation and modernization of fire station facilities.
Among the beneficiaries are firefighters from Warsaw and representatives of units from the following counties: Wołomin, Grodzisk, Otwock, Warsaw West, Legionowo, Nowy Dwór, Pruszków, and Piaseczno.
Anna Brzezińska, a member of the Masovian Voivodeship executive board, emphasized that the regional self-government has consistently supported OSP brigades for many years. As she pointed out, these units play a key role in local communities. According to the regional authority representative, the grants allow for the modernization of infrastructure and the equipping of firefighters, which directly impacts the improvement of the quality of rescue operations and the increase in residents' safety.
