The Mazovian Regional Government has announced the allocation of funds for the development of sports infrastructure in Warsaw. The total value of the co-financing from the Mazovian Sports Infrastructure Development Program for the capital amounts to PLN 2.2 million. The funds will be directed to four districts: Rembertów, Praga-Południe, Bemowo, and Żoliborz. The objective of these actions is the modernization of existing sites and the construction of new facilities, which are intended to increase the availability of places for residents to engage in physical activity.

New infrastructure in the districts

The key investment to be realized under the program is the construction of a skatepark hall on the territory of the Sports and Recreation Center in the Bemowo district. This facility is intended to serve enthusiasts of extreme sports, such as roller skating, skateboarding, and ice skating. As reported by the Marshal's Office, the new facility is to offer various functions for amateurs of these disciplines.

In the Praga-Południe district, the co-financing covers the modernization of sports and recreational infrastructure at primary schools. Meanwhile, in Żoliborz, renovations are planned at Primary School No. 267. There, both the sports ground and the sports hall will be modernized. In Rembertów, support will go to Primary School No. 217, where the sports hall, along with its support facilities, will be renewed. According to a statement by Anna Brzezińska, a member of the Mazovian Regional Government executive board, the modernization of facilities at schools is of particular importance, as it is where youth not only participate in physical education classes but also develop their own sporting passions.

Support for firefighters in Stara Miłosna

In addition to sports projects, the regional government decided to provide support for a fire protection unit. From the “Mazowsze for Firefighters” program, PLN 40,000 was allocated for the modernization of the Voluntary Fire Brigade (Ochotnicza Straż Pożarna) station in Stara Miłosna. This investment aims to improve the technical conditions of the facility and raise the level of safety in the district. Deputy Marshal Wiesław Raboszuk emphasized that such actions are an integral part of the policy supporting local investments, which serve both health promotion and improved safety for residents.

Deputy Marshal Raboszuk noted that, thanks to regional support, modern recreation places are being created that effectively encourage physical activity. Mazovian Provincial Councillor Katarzyna Łęgiewicz points out that sports facilities are enjoying increasing interest, and their modernization allows them to meet the growing demand for places to engage in amateur sports.
