On October 16, 2026, the latest statistical collection regarding selected data on the sub-regions of the Masovian Voivodeship was published. It concerns the situation in the second quarter of 2026 and contains information intended for specific territorial units. The document presents indicators arranged based on the European statistical nomenclature, enabling a comparison of results with other areas of the European Union.
The territorial structure referenced in the publication is based on the NUTS system (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistical purposes). This classification is valid in EU member states and aims to ensure the collection and provision of comparable statistical data. The current version of the nomenclature has been in force in Poland since January 1, 2018. According to it, the country is divided into a three-tier structure: macroregions (NUTS 1), regions (NUTS 2), and sub-regions (NUTS 3).
On a national scale, there are a total of 97 NUTS statistical units in Poland. This structure comprises 7 macroregions, 17 regions, and 73 sub-regions. The Masovian Voivodeship constitutes one of the seven macroregions (NUTS 1). Unusually for the other administrative units, Mazovia has been divided into two regions (NUTS 2): the Warsaw Capital Region and the Mazovian Regional Region. Within these two regions, there are a total of 9 sub-regions (NUTS 3). The sub-regions were formed by aggregating counties, which constitute the basis of the existing administrative division together with voivodeships and municipalities.
