The Criminal Department of the Railway Police Station in Warsaw is conducting a preliminary investigation into the public insult using words generally considered vulgar and insulting and the violation of the physical integrity of a female citizen of Ukraine. According to the police, the act is reported to have occurred because of the victim's national origin. The incident took place on 6 February 2026 at the Galeria Wileńska shopping centre in Warsaw.
During the investigation, the images of two women were extracted from surveillance footage. The first was described as a person about 30 years old, about 170 cm tall, with long, dark, straight hair. The second was described as a woman about 40-50 years old, about 165 cm tall, with long, light-colored hair and corrective glasses.
