In the Rembertów and Wesoła districts, intensive work is ongoing on two road investments aimed at eliminating conflicting intersections with railway lines. Currently, the construction of road tunnels is at the stage of completing key structural elements. According to the schedule, both structures should be handed over for use by the end of 2027, which will translate into smoother communication in this part of Warsaw.
Work Status in Rembertów
In Rembertów, work began in early spring on the north side of the railway tracks. As part of the preliminary actions, necessary infrastructure networks were modernized, including power, telecommunication, and water supply systems. The stormwater sewer system was also modernized.
According to available information, the contractor has already finished erecting the tunnel retaining walls and constructing diaphragm walls. The pouring of the tunnel ceiling has also been completed on both sides – both the north and the south. From the side of Strażacka Street, the construction of an approach slab is planned, which will allow direct access to the structure. An important element that has already been realized is the construction of the new Pociskowa Street. This road has been connected to Ilskiego Street, ensuring continuity of access to the surrounding residential buildings and the nearby shopping center.
The next stage of work in Rembertów will focus on removing the remaining network conflicts, particularly those concerning power and telecommunication connections, as well as the installation of railway traffic control devices. The completion of the construction of a temporary platform on the north side is planned, which will enable the temporary switching of railway traffic. Subsequently, work will move to the south side, where an emergency platform will also be built.
