Criminal police officers from the Warszawa IV District Police Headquarters detained a 27-year-old man suspected of committing a robbery against a 57-year-old. The incident took place at the end of August this year, in the evening in the vicinity of ulica Wileńska in Praga Północ. The victim was a man who was heading to a shop at the time of the incident.

According to reports from police operations, the 57-year-old was approached by a younger man he did not know. The attacker asked him for money, and after receiving assurance that the victim had no cash, the situation turned aggressive. Upon regaining consciousness, the injured man noticed municipal guards and police officers above him. As sources state, the 57-year-old did not remember the course of the entire event. He only realized that his wallet was missing, in which he had kept cash, documents, a phone, and a watch. Emergency services called to the scene determined that the injured victim did not require hospitalization.

During the operational activities, police officers recovered the stolen wallet along with some of the items inside it. A key role in identifying the perpetrator was played by criminals specialists focusing on combating crime in the Praga Północ area. Thanks to their knowledge of the local criminal environment, they identified the 27-year-old, who had previously been convicted of various crimes, including robbery. The man was released from detention in February this year after serving a sentence of nearly two years of imprisonment.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old was detained and taken to the Warszawa-Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor charged him with robbery and filed a motion for preventive detention. The court granted this motion, isolating the suspect for the duration of the proceedings. He faces a severe penalty for the charged crime—up to 15 years of imprisonment.
