The Mazovian Culture Institute and the PERFORM Art Foundation invite you to the dance performance “Rozbark Underground,” taking place on November 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The event, organized in the Concert Hall at Elektoralna 12 Street in Warsaw, is part of the November meeting of the Central Dance Scene cycle: Scena (CST: Scena). Tickets priced at 25 PLN are available at the institution's box office and online at www.mik.waw.pl/repertuar.
Open Stage for Young Artists
The “Rozbark Underground” show is part of the “Open Stage for Young Artists” programming block. The goal of this cycle is to present choreographies by young creators and dancers in professional stage conditions. The organizers emphasize that this format allows new performances to move beyond closed rehearsal spaces and universities, giving the audience a chance to see new productions and allowing artists to gain valuable professional experience. This initiative aims to professionalize the work of choreographers and support informal dance groups in their further development.
Educational-Artistic Program from Bytom
“Rozbark Underground” is a program initiated by Anna Piotrowska, implemented at the Bytom Dance and Movement Theatre Rozbark. It is aimed at children, youth, and adults and serves as a space for exploring diverse movement practices. In accordance with the founder's intentions, the project is understood as a form of alternative artistic education that stimulates curiosity about bodily expression and develops creativity. Participants have the opportunity to discover their own possibilities, recognize their potential, and develop an individual creative path, which can serve as a starting point for a professional artistic career. The results of the participants' work are presented, among other things, during educational concerts.
Class Leadership
The choreography and classes within the program are led by Aleksandra Kępińska, an artist and dancer with the Rozbark Theatre ensemble. She completed her bachelor's studies at the Institute of Choreography and Dance Techniques at the Łódź Academy of Music, where she is currently continuing her studies on a master's program. For the past four years, she has served as a choreographer and instructor for three dance groups operating within “Rozbark Underground,” including a youth dance theatre and modern jazz groups.
