Between October 30 and November 2, 2026, enhanced safety measures have been introduced across the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. These actions are linked to the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, which traditionally involve increased traffic on roads and in cemetery areas.
As part of the planned operations, officers from the Mazovian SPEED Group and plainclothes operational police officers have been deployed. In areas with particularly heavy traffic, where necessary, police officers will manually direct vehicles together with soldiers from the Military Gendarmerie. Authorities are paying special attention to the main routes leading to necropolises, monitoring the situation to ensure traffic flow and minimize disruptions.
Road controls are scheduled to check drivers' sobriety, the technical condition of vehicles, and the manner in which passengers are transported, including the use of seat belts and child car seats. Officers will respond to any dangerous behavior on the road, such as speeding or hazardous overtaking maneuvers. Unmarked police cars will also be used to increase the effectiveness of patrols.
In the cemeteries and their immediate vicinity, both uniformed police officers and plainclothes officers will be present. Their main task is to prevent pickpocketing, property theft, and acts of vandalism. Authorities advise maintaining caution in crowded places, such as parking lots and public transport vehicles, and properly securing valuable items and documents.
To reduce the number of vehicles in cemetery areas and limit traffic jams, the police encourage residents to use public transport. Before setting out, it is worth familiarizing oneself with temporary changes in traffic organization, which may include detours, changes in driving directions, and additional restrictions. Drivers should pay attention to road signs and comply with officers' instructions. Particular attention should be paid to proper parking – leaving cars in prohibited places, obstructing traffic, or threatening pedestrian safety can lead to dangerous situations. All road users are asked to be patient and more vigilant so that the period of reflection and remembrance passes safely.
