From October 20 to 25, 2026, the GPC World Championships in strength sports took place in Pabianice. Special Grade Senior Inspector Łukasz Wółkiewicz, a police officer from the Wałbrzych County Police Headquarters, participated in the competition. The officer competed in the bench press event, starting in the under 75 kg weight category.

During the competition, Wółkiewicz weighed 74.7 kg. In the deciding attempt, he achieved a result of 170 kg, which allowed him to secure first place. This achievement ensured him victory in both the overall Open classification and the special ranking intended for uniformed athletes.

The program for the 2026 GPC World Championships was broad and included several key strength disciplines. In addition to the bench press, in which the Wałbrzych police officer triumphed, participants also competed in powerlifting, squats, deadlifts, and barbell curls. Łukasz Wółkiewicz's success confirms that combining the intense duties of police service with a high level of professional strength sport is possible.
