Warsaw joins the circle of cities that have had the opportunity to see "Ongoing" – the authorial exhibition by British actress Tilda Swinton. This is the first Polish iteration of the exhibition, which previously visited Amsterdam and Athens. The event is organized by the Institute of Creative Industries, which invites viewers to view the works in its halls at 65 Minska Street.
Scope of Work and Curation
The works presented cover more than forty years of Swinton's artistic activity. As indicated by the exhibition's concept, the curator of the project is Tilda Swinton herself, which gives the display the character of a personal review of her creative work. The exhibition is not limited solely to the actress's film achievements but also reaches out to broader cooperation with visual artists and directors.
Scope of Presented Materials
Visitors will have the opportunity to view various forms of artistic expression. Within the framework of the exhibition, film materials, photographs, and installations will be presented, among other things. Particular attention is drawn to costumes and fragments of private archives, which are rarely available to the general public. Additionally, the display will include works created specifically for this project, indicating the dynamic nature of the exhibition and its adaptation to new locations.
Collaboration with Creators
"Ongoing" is a story about Tilda Swinton's relationships with outstanding figures in the world of art and cinema. The cited sources list specific creators with whom the actress has collaborated, including Pedro Almodóvar, Luca Guadagnino, Jim Jarmusch, Derek Jarman, and Tim Walker. The presentation of these joint projects allows for a holistic view of the artist's career, going beyond a typical filmography review.
Practical Details
The exhibition will be available to visitors from September 18, 2026, to January 17, 2027. The location is the Institute of Creative Industries at 65 Minska Street in Warsaw. The dates suggest that the event is long-term, giving viewers ample time to familiarize themselves with the extensive material of the exhibition.
