On Saturday, October 24, 2026, just before midnight, a female police officer from Warsaw, who was in Radom on a day off, along with her partner, provided assistance to a man who had lost consciousness. The incident took place in the dark on the square at Beliny-Prażmowskiego Street. The officer's conduct, although she was not in uniform at the time, was publicly recognized as an example of civic action in a crisis situation.

The officer was returning from a sporting event in the Planty area. On a path running through the square, she noticed two sports bags lying on the ground. When she asked a passing pedestrian about them, he confirmed that no one had retrieved them and that the luggage had been lying there for about three hours. Concerned about the owners' safety, the officer and her companion began searching the area. Due to the complete darkness, they illuminated the terrain using flashlights on their mobile phones.

During the inspection, the officer spotted a wallet under one of the benches and discovered a man lying under a tree. The victim was lying on his side, facing the trunk, and was invisible to people passing by. The man did not respond to his name or attempts to shake him, but he was breathing and showed no visible signs of physical injury. Given the low temperature and the victim's lack of response, the officer and her partner called a Municipal Guard (Straż Miejska) patrol to the scene.

Until the arrival of the authorities, the officer continuously monitored the man's vital signs, ready to provide first aid should his condition deteriorate. Upon arrival, the municipal guards also failed to establish contact with the unconscious man, so they immediately called an emergency medical team. Once the officer was sure the victim was under medical care, she returned to her accommodation with her partner.

This case has been presented as a model of civic conduct, particularly important during cold weather, when every minute counts for the health and life of the injured. It was pointed out that responding to the needs of others can be simple and lead to saving someone's health, or even their life in extreme cases. In case of spotting a person in need of help, it is recommended to immediately notify the authorities at the emergency number 112, who will take further, professional action.
