From 6 October 2026, drivers crossing the Wolę Rębkowską bridge along national road DK76 must expect changes in traffic organisation. These result from the start of repair works related to the replacement of the surface and the modernisation of the structure. Works begin this Tuesday and will last until spring 2027, including the standard winter break.

New traffic organisation

During the works, vehicle traffic on the bridge will operate in a single lane with alternating flow. Daily traffic management will be carried out using traffic lights. To minimise disruptions and delays, traffic will be manually controlled by personnel during morning and afternoon peak hours. This organisation aims to help ensure a smoother flow of vehicles during the most congested times of the day.

Scope and cost of investment

The contractor for the works is Primost, which signed a contract worth 1.4 million PLN. The scope of works is extensive and includes not only laying a new surface but also the repair of the bridge structure. The investment includes the demolition of parts of the existing structure and the surface on the bridge and its approaches. Additionally, the contractor will repair damaged structural elements, overhaul bearings, and replace insulation and drainage. New road and bridge barriers will also be installed, and dilation joints and other equipment elements will be carried out.

Duration of works

According to the contract, the maximum duration of the works is 5 months. However, this will be extended due to the exclusion of the winter period, i.e., from 16 December to 15 March. It is expected that the works will be completed in spring 2027, although the final deadline may depend on prevailing weather conditions. After all works are finished, the site is to be tidied and restored to the state it was in before the works began.
