A delegation from the Warsaw City Transport Authority (ZTM) participated in the TransExpo 2026 exhibition in Kielce. During the event, key vehicle purchases were finalized, and new buses that will soon take to the capital's streets were presented. The event provided an opportunity to discuss the latest trends in the public transport industry.

The Warsaw institution was represented by a four-person management team. The group included Director Katarzyna Strzegowska, Director of the Economic and Financial Division Tomasz Rupiewicz, Director of the Transport Division Artur Zając, and Director of the Commercial Division Agnieszka Siekierska-Otłowska. The presence of such high-ranking officials underscored the importance of the negotiations held in Kielce.

The main point of the ZTM's visit was the formal confirmation of the expansion of the electric vehicle fleet. Director Katarzyna Strzegowska signed an order with Solaris Bus&Coach for another 50 Solaris Urbino 18 city buses. According to ZTM, activating this option allows the continuation of the started vehicle modernization program, which is intended to guarantee responsible fleet development planning in the coming years. City authorities declare that the priority remains the safety, comfort, and reliability of passenger travel.

New hybrids in the capital

During the first day of the exhibition, the MAN Lion's City 18 EfficientHybrid model was also presented. The vehicle, which has already been painted in the colors of Warsaw public transport, will officially join the fleet from December 1, 2026. This is just the beginning of the cooperation, as the contract covers the delivery of 54 articulated city buses. According to data from the event, the vehicle supplier is MAN Truck & Bus Polska, and the operator that will use them in Warsaw will be Relobus Transport Polska.

Representatives of partner companies also participated in the ceremonies related to the presentation of the MANs. Present were, among others, Tomasz Rochowicz, President of Relobus Transport Polska, Claus Wallenstein, Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus Polska, and Piotr Borowski, Managing Director of MAN Financial Services Polska.

Exchange of industry experience

The TransExpo exhibition serves not only for signing contracts but also for integrating the transport community. As indicated by ZTM, participation in such events enables familiarization with new technological solutions being developed by suppliers. Topics that are currently generating significant interest include, among others, new passenger information systems, ticket control and sales technologies, and tools for transport planning. Contact with operators from other cities allows for the exchange of experiences that may be useful in the daily work of Warsaw's public transport.
